At a University and College Union (UCU) branch meeting today, academic staff from Sheffield Hallam University passed a motion condemning the attacks on Gaza. Staff will be attending tomorrows protest against the victimisation of students taking part in solidarity action over the Gaza crisis (although they cannot interfere in Union affairs as they are not members).
The staff will put together a UCU motion to try to get their members to agree to some more official support for students under threat from their union or from the University.
